Hi, does anyone here have first hand experience/knowledge regarding EF Urumqi? I know that EF schools vary greatly, but would like to know about this branch specifically. Peace. |

If you want to scare yourself (or have a good laugh) you could check out the following link.

However the folks from EF Urumqi appeared recently on a Chinese programme about Urumqi and they seemed reasonably sane. Their experiences in the past may have helped the current teachers there to give some honest advice as to whether its the right place for you, so get their email addresses, and consult 2 or 3 of them, because the TV programme made clear that the DOS has persuaded friends to come and work for her. Nothing wrong with that, but you should try to get an objective opinion. |

Just remember that there is no internet nor international calls out of Urumqi. You'll be isolated from the outside world. |

This has got to be affecting the economy of the region quite badly.
If I lived near the border, I'd sell Kazak cell phones! |
