I am a full time secondary math teacher in the states. With summers off, I thought it would be a lot of fun for my wife and I to teach abroad for the summer (she is also a teacher). Does anyone know any good resources for finding paid, summer employment in a foreign country? I've done many Google searches and haven't found much. It seems like the best way is word of mouth.

Your help is appreciated...thanks!

Try China. There should be some summer camps there.

It's a bit early, but over the next few months you will find summer camps advertising. Try the jobs page here and www.tefl.com. I did one in China several years ago. Yes, it was paid, with housing provided, but I had to cover airfare, so overall I lost money.

Europe? It wasn't true in 2009, and it's not likely to be true in 2010, either.
The OP is, first of all, apparently a US citizen and therefore not entitled to legal work in much of Europe. Secondly, European employers most usually won't pay airfares, so the expense for travel will be one's own burden. Third, there is less work overall in the region than in the past, thanks to the economic crisis, and what summer camp jobs there are will go first to experienced teachers in the region. Finally, there's near-zero in August in any case, as Europeans (the continental ones at least) take their holidays seriously.
