Now, these last two posts are what I would call good information. I will add the only school that I am familiar with:

Georgal Idiomas in Barranca del Muerto
Not a bad place for a first-time teacher. They train you in their method (communicative). Any variance is highly discouraged and may affect your salary. Core staff is friendly, though not very good at following through with promises. HR department underqualified (They handle your immigration application.). Pay on time and don't skimp you on legal benefits. Do not program your schedule based on commuting distance, though they say they will. Pay is low. Family-owned.

$4,000 part-time (mornings) to $10,000 full-time (split-shifts, always at work)

I agree with the Georgal post, although my inside sources say things are sliding a bit.

My compliments to gearronson, and PhilK, among others, for putting up some truly informative posts, p.4, of this thread. I was casually flipping through the forum and was stunned to see these- detailed and informative to all, but especially useful to those making a threshold decision about whether to enter TEFL, at all. I found your response to robotparty and kymmy somewhat interesting, albeit amusing, especially the part about �better teachers arriving�.

Perhaps you�re having one of those off nights that we teachers all have from time to time. However, in your two posts there are 14 spelling errors, 3 punctuation errors, 5 capitalization errors, 4 grammar errors, and 14 typing errors.

On another note...Pogo...when it is stated in a contract that accommodations will be secured upon arrival, I kind of expect that to actually happen! And guess what, it does happen! In fact, at my current position at a reputable university here in Mexico, I was driven around to look at apartments before deciding on the one I wanted. So, it's all about living up to promises, which does not happen at Global whatever they're calling it now. Oh yeah, and no of course they didn't go bankrupt...it's just fun to keep changing the name! RIGHT...whatever helps you to sleep at night!
