Your assessment is in error. PC is giving preference to one group over another. Equality does not consist of favoring one group. By definition it cannot. |
Examples please. |

"slavitude" is a part of the species, VS...that of homo economicus. I'm quite happy this thread has not been locked, so I won't quote Eminem at this juncture, but I sure would like to.
"Do you think you could tone it down a bit?" "Sure...(*&(&%^%&&*&%! are you satisfied now?"
norwalk....I'm so glad that the Americans don't have those Eastern values that you seem so enthralled of, though I do think they should get a bit more French and adopt a more Luddite sense of responsibility to their masters. What happened to all those missing "W's" on the typewriters? Do they even use typewriters at the White House?
What was the topic anyway? |

This is hugely off topic which is about the UAE and a culture of innovation and how that may or may not pertain to national GDP and societal growth.
For example:
Women in the USA are preferred to men in admissions to Unis. They are considered a minority when they comprise 60+% of all enrollees and graduates and there are programs designed to rectify this mythical imbalance. This policy of PC is actively part of the culture of US Universities. The assumption that somehow a 20 year old man has benefited from some mythical patriarchy at the expense of a 20 year old woman is ludicrous. They were both born in 1989, how could he possibly have received any hidden benefit from being born male?
If one group has a priority over another, that is not equality.

I don't see how you jumped from favouring women as a art of their general admissions policy, to PC. What's the connection?
Plus , PLUS, PLUS,
It seems colleges are biased against women, not against men when it comes to admissions. I looked online and found this:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091217/ap_on_re_us/us_colleges_discrimination
Do you happen to have a link to show me how all this PC stuff is connected to college admissions? Or one about favouring women? |

I don't think it is at all PC to be in the least bit honest or truthful. Anything that gets anyone uppity in the slightest is not PC. It is for this reason alone that I only use a laptop. |
