Hello everyone,
I am not feeling very genki today. Because all prices everywhere are raised today, and the stores are actually Advertising this like it is a cool sale or something. Nobody is shopping where I am, people are just walking around. Me too.
I heard this discussed on the news, but do not understand the language.
Is this just a temporary tax day? Or is the most expensive country in the world getting even more so?
It is not kawaii.

I wanted a pet dog before, but not for 1200 American, not that I even had 1000 before. (the prices everywhere were raised.
Pss. I have to make some frozen dinners now for the next week. So I have to go. |

Don't freak out! The prices are still the same... but as of April shops have to display the price INCLUDING the 5% tax. Before, the price displayed was without the tax and they added it on afterwards.
So don't worry... The prices are still the same. |

Quite an expensive law change. Every restaurant has to change their menu. It would be a good time to raise the prices too, if I was an owner. |

I think it's a great idea, actually. I'm sick and tired of not being given the real cost up front. They need a law like that in the USA, as well as a law against nining down the prices ($4.99 instead of $5.00). |

Not all places are following the law. Many just have a sign near the cash register saying tax has not been added yet. |
