I am looking at Birmingham UK which I know has good reputation but is 7000GBP.
The other possibility is St Marys University College ,which has some intensive taught weekends.
Any other recognised Unis UK doing the MA which are acceptable for Saudi, UAE etc?
Ta for tips etc... |

The Aston University MSc. in EFL or ESP is recognised.
The Masters in Applied Linguistics from Macquarie University in Australia is also recognised.
Opinions differ on this one, but the consensus appears to be that the UAE Ministry of Education , NOT the UAE Ministry of Higher Education, has a problem with distance MAs. Most other employers do not, though asgain attitudes might be coloured by the experiences that they have had with holders of particular qualifications in the past. |

| In KSA there is some suspicion of degrees earned solely by distance. Preference is given to those with so-called "blended degrees". By this is meant a course that includes a residential element or at least some face-to-face contact with the course providers. |

The University of Southern Queensland in Australia has a good program that's not expensive and is considered a "well respected qualification" in the UAE.
IMHO

I did my MA TESL/TEFL with University of Birmingham (UK). No problems so far. It's a great program.

| I also have an MA TESL/TEFL from UBirmingham. There were two Saudi teachers also on the course..they needed the MA to get wage increases at their jobs in Saudi. So I would presume the degree is recognised, at least by some employers in the Kingdom. |
