Hello all,
I'm back after quite a hiatus from the boards.Too much personal stuff going on, but I hope to post regularly again now.

It's been a tough semester. We all had to take a 5zl per hour pay cut or be "dismissed".Yup, the old annex was hoisted out after we had signed the contract and we had to "agree" to this pay cut.

Given the fact that prices are continuing to skyrocket and rents are insane(currently paying 1,100zl per month for a concrete shoebox with a bathroom from the 1960s in a provincial city) makes for an interesting year.

Private students tell me they are feeling the pinch and have either cancelled or reduced their hours considerably,so that's another shot to the wallet.

Winter break is coming up and that means no salary for the month pretty much.I'm also dating a Polish bird who earns 1,200 zl per month and has very, very expensive tastes so of course you know what that means..........a nice cold park bench is waiting for me..hahaha Laughing

Good thing vodka is still cheap.........errrr....... wait the bottom shelf stuff at Biedronka just isn't going to cut it anymore! The good stuff runs you about 30-40zl per 500ml.

Anyway, hope you all had a good Christmas and a good start to 2010 in thsi crazy country

p.s.....We spent 3 days in Zakopane over the Christmas holiday and shelled out 2,300 zl for me and the missus. This included everything....crazy stuff. We were staying on "the cheap" there as well! Rolling Eyes

Best Regards,
Jack

yep, the fact that you don't get paid during your vacation is probably the reason why I left Poland.

Nice country, but just wish pay was better.
