Hi,
I'm an accounting student just finishing up my masters degree in the states. I should have my CPA in about 2 months, and I've been accepted into law school. I love to teach and travel and am thinking about going abroad for a year and deferring my law school acceptance.

I applied to some programs in Japan, but I've read lots of bad things about the "conversational" schools. My goal is to become more proficient in the english language and more comfortable in front of groups (Both very important things for law school). I'm pretty good with those things now, but being an accountant, I'm sure most every other lawyer is probably better than I.

What are your thoughts on taking a TEFL course and then teaching for a year? Do you think that I can improve the those areas and have a good time living and learning abroad? I found a few courses in Prague that sounded interesting.

Any advice?
Thanks so much!!

Well, most of us did exactly that, so most of us will tell you to go for it.

I think that this is such a personal question, I simply can't tell you what is best for you. Continue your research and do what you feel is best for you.

I agree. Go for it!

I got my TEFL cert. in Prague through ITC, and I would recommend it.

4 alternatives:-

1) You don't do it.
2) You do it but don't benefit; no harm done.
3) You do it and benefit.
4) You do it, like it and never go to law school.

So what's your answer?
