I've read a couple of posts here about employer-provided housing versus going it alone. In the short term, I think it would be good to go the first route. Regarding the independent way, since most flats don't have any furnishings, how did people get their necessities quickly? I don't have experience of moving into an unfurnished flat, so I'm thinking, okay- no tables, chairs and most importantly, no bed! Shocked
So, to all the die-hards on this board, what did you do when you moved into an unfurnished flat for the first time? How quickly did it take for you to sort that out?

No answer for you, but here's another tip: In Mexico, unfurnished can often also mean not only no kitchen appliances but no cupboards or counters either! You may also have to buy a cocina which in this context means a little kitchen amoire unit with a miniscule counter space. Good luck!

Unfurnished also usually means no fridge, stove or other appliances, either.
