Dear faizayassin,

If I understand your post correctly, this lady is unmarried but wants to apply for a "spouse visa?"

Can't be done, as you've outlined.

Is this what you're talking about?

C. A Family Visit or Resident Visa:

Family members of an individual working in Saudi Arabia can obtain a family visit visa to travel to the Kingdom. The employed spouse must submit a request of invitation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia, who will then send the authorization directly to the Saudi Embassy or one of its Consulates.

An original visa application with all sections completed.
A passport, valid for at least six months and containing at least four blank pages.
One passport-sized photograph.
A letter from a Saudi company on company letterhead sponsoring the applicant.
If the applicant is a wife visiting her husband, she must supply a copy of their marriage certificate. If the applicant is a child visiting a parent, a copy of their birth certificate is required.
A money order for $54.00 for each person.
Include the number and date of the visa of the family member working in Saudi Arabia.

Regards
John

What I meant was she is not married at the momment. She has just started working in KSA and she has a year contract. If the contract is renewed she would like to return to the UK for her holiday and get married. She would then like to apply for her husband to join her. I hope that is clearer.

Some employers, like the university, do the process of obtaining the necessary visa for the spouse (called in Arabic Istiqdam).
They request from her the marriage certificate to be certified by the British foreign office and the Saudi Embassy in London, and translated into Arabic. If her employer dont do it for her, she has to do it herself, or through an agent in Saudi Arabia. There are some types of jobs, the employee cannot bring his spouse (minimum salary rule!).
