I've just moved to Riyadh and I want to catch the Spanish League, Premier League, African Nations Cup, Champions League and obviously the World Cup in June
Are Al Jazeera the company with all these games or is there any other channel that shows them ?
I assume you can only see them on Al Jazeera PPV so can you buy a card for 6 months or does it have to be a year ?
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks |

I'm sure ART and ShowTime also show a lot of footie. I don't have a TV so sorry I can't be of more assistance... |

Get OSN (Orbit Showtime Network). They have all the English and European football you want. They even have 11 English premium movies channels (uncut/no commercials) plus another 2 or 3 free-to-air censored ones. |

They do? Things must have changed since I subscribed to Orbit less than a year ago. They had no rihgts to any of the European leagues at that time. KSA is actually pretty lousy as regards wathcing live football. During the last European Championships, I had to search through all my Hotbird channels (all 400 of them) before I could finally find some German channel showing the matches. Same with the European Champions League.
I'm hoping I'll find a similar channel to watch the forthcoming World Cup in June - the alternative does nto bear thinking about. |

Asda, do you know that there is no TV license in the Magic Kingdom!

Cleo, which football team, if any, are you going to support?
I hope one of the African teams will win the 2010 world cup.
I think the American team is out of the equation! |

Well, Uncle Scott, the Boys in Green (the Irish) are not only out of the equation, they are out of the wolrd cup after Mr Henry broke their hearts by his 'handball' trick during the Mother of all Battles match! Nothing to support in this case!
Scottish team is also out of the equation ....have fun, Uncle Scott ! |

My British friend gets all the British soccer he wants on OSN--that's all I know. If you subscribed last year you'll need to update your channels if you haven't already done so (and, of course, if you so desire). They won't do it for you automatically. All the Orbit and Showtime channels are now under OSN. You shouldn't be paying more than $65 a month unless extra "footie" channels cost more. I don't follow sports but I get the 75 English channels.

I know that during the last two World Cups no one was sure until the last minute what satellite coverage would be available from which providers in KSA. This year may well be the same. |

Still wake up in cold sweats over those scenes at about 1.40. The day the hun came to town and wrecked our ground. Still, they are 'the people'. |

Well, I wonder if Uncle Scott has any connection, directly or indirectly, with Scottish Orangeism or Scottish unionism?

I have here at my fingertips the Showsports 1 and 2 channel listings for today...full of Premier League, Scottish League, Portuguese League. Brazilian League. etc. Anyone here who has Orbit but no soccer probably needs to add the Showtime channels by calling up OSN. |
