Hello,
I am new to GDL and am lucky to already have a part time job teaching english, however I really want to take spanish classes as well but cant' find anything remotely affordable. Any suggestions other than just going out and working on it which i am doing as well?
Thanks!

Unless you REALLY love being in a language class, just immerse yourself. You're in Mexico. Avoid expats. Read, watch TV, talk to people, get a boyfriend as WC says. Anything but languages classes - even a private teacher would be better or just someone you could pay to talk to and have them correct you. Mexicans won't correct you, they think it's rude.

Hello!

Out of curiosity, how much were you wanting to pay for classes?

Also, have you been to Sandy's bookstore in Chapalita? They have a good selection of Spanish text books to work from.

Finally, I would recommend a book published by difusion that is very similiar to the Cambridge 'Grammar in Use' Every two pages deals with a different gramatical point, it explains the point and then has practices (answers in the back of the book) It could be a good self study aid.

BF and a grammar book. Studying Spanish at a school in GDL is for rich gringo retirees and college kids on exchange on mommy and daddy's money.
