For those of you who are at Hail, particularly any females, I'd love to know what Hail is like these days, accommodation, pay (direct & non-direct hires), facilities, students etc etc.

I've read a number of threads, some have answered my questions to an extent but it would be good to get a clearer picture of life there!

Thanks

I am interested in seeing these threads you mention as I am also looking into Ha'il. Thanks.

Edit: I've been looking at previous posts discussing Ha'il University and it appears as though it may have gone through some rough patches. What is the current state of being employed by them. Anyone know?

Would one recommend it? Or is this one to stay clear of?

I have a friend who is working in Hail. He's not a direct hire and is there through a recruiter (M-Trading). Things do not seem all that good there if you are with a recruiter. I would highly recommend that you do not even consider going there through a recruiter. Please, only consider a direct hire.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I know if I am being hired via a direct hire as opposed to a recruiter?

If your communications are with the HR department or the EFL dept of a university/college/school, it is direct hire. If you are communicating with some strangely named company somewhere in the US or the UK or India... it is a recruiter.

Can someone please explain to me what is the problem with the recruiters, I hear so many stories, but don't know what to believe.

How often have you ever heard or read anything good about a recruiter? I've been reading this board for years and I'd say that it is about 80-90% negative.

They are generally CONTRACTORS not recruiters in KSA. They undertake to provide teachers to an institutipn, charge the institution a monthly fee, and pass on some of it to the teachers.

Parasites.

If anybody looks for disrespect, dishonesty, humiliation, lies, hypocracy and hatred, s/he has to live and work in Hail !!
The atmosphere is killing and all teachers are disappointed and hate the moment they arrived in Hail !!
Who works in Hail, will reach the point that money is not everything and living on benefit is better than living in Hail !!
The university is just a handfull of liars. nobody tells the truth, despite they pray and telling lies!!
People are bedouins, no place to go just a compound called ( Mashaar ) is a real prison surrounded by mountains and desret !! totally isolated !!
The landlord o Mashaar occasionally cut the power and running water to force the university to pay him !! the teachers pay the price !! they are the weakest link between the greedy landlord and nasty university!!
Or accommodate the teachers in miserable hotels like ( Yamamah ) and ( Bundukiyya ) !! near the prep.year building !! the prep.year building is just a miserable hotel used temporarily as a university building !!
Teachers always late-paid!! they are begging for their rights !! changed to beggars not teachers !!
If anybody respects himself, should avoid Hail and saudi Arabia as a whole and look for a teaching job anywhere but not there

Why even give saudi or hail the respect of capitalization?!? I ended that process years ago...
