Well let's let logic answer your question. Business visa [quick/fast] work visa [weeks/months/slow] |
Generally, yes, but if your potential employer already has a block work visa for your nationality, then the process is considerably faster. So far as I know KSU brings people in on work, not business visas.

Not neccessarily. There can be times when bringing teachers in on business visas is the only option for employers if they need you there quickly. However, it's one thing to hire someone on a business visa, it's another to keep them on it. Before accepting a job on a business visa, get a written guarantee from the employer that it will be converted to a work visa/iqama asap. If they refuse to do this, think carefully before accepting the job. |

It is the consular section of the embassy that processes all visas.
My visa was processed by the Saudi consulate in Los Angeles through an agent who did most of the footwork. At the time my home was on the east coast.
Saudi Arabia has consulates in Houston, LA and one or two other US cities in addition to the one in DC. |

also in saudi arabia (or anyone else for that matter),
Just curious, why did you send your stuff to LA if you were already on the east coast? Wouldn't DC or NY made more sense? Was this at the discretion of the visa agent?
Do you know if US applicants are free to choose which city they apply in? I heard you had to have an address near which ever city you choose.
I'm near DC, but am a little apprehensive about applying here because I've heard the embassy is so strict about the requirements and has been to reject applicants.
Thanks in advance. |

| My employer advised me to use a particular agent who was located close to the LA consulate. |

| Any updates on this process? I'm expecting to be going through the visa process soon, so I'm curious to know how everything worked out. |
