Hi All!

I'm an English lad who has justm moved to DF to find work as an English teacher. I've got a couple of interviews lined up for this week and all is going well...

However I'd love to meet other teachers in the city!!! And well any expats that are living here. I've got a real passion for football and I was wondering if anyone knows any expat football (soccer) teams here in the city? I'm itching to start playing!!

Cheers!

good luck finding expat teams...

to find a Mexican team, you might try asking around the University...

or just show up to a public field on a Sat. or Sun. morning, and get picked up by a team...

Do you like cricket by any chance? Although you might think it would be impossible in Mexico, there is a mini league based at the Reforma Club, just north of the city, mainly expats. You just have to turn up in your whites, and you're pretty much assured of a game, even if they have to play 14-a-side!!
They have football pitches as well, so there might be something there.

British baseball! sweet!!! i've never played it, but I played the american version all my life.

in college, there were many international students from India (guess what they were studying). I sat down to watch them play once. the similarities are striking!!! looks like fun!

so you saying that we are playing a girls game? Evil or Very Mad Laughing

if that's the case, then you are too. like i said, the similarities of Cricket and Baseball are striking: they are sisters.

and jokes about girlie games are lame... the americans say the same thing about soccer... Rolling Eyes

Thanks a lot fellas!

I'm going to check the cricket out at The Reforma Club... I don't suppose you have any contacts with tany players up there Phil? Just I live pretty far away and it'd be good to know a bit more! Thanks in advance!

And since my last post, my landlord's son plays for an amateur team here and he's going to put in a good word...

Thanks again for the help folks!

Just need to sort myself out with some whites now...

By the way, I'm going to see Cruz Azul play tommorow (Saturday) at 5pm with some mates. If anyone fancies tagging along then you'd be more than welcome! We're going to be meeting at 3.30pm. I'll send you more info if you want it!
