|
|
I am relocating from South Carolina to Cordoba, Veracruz. My husband is from there. This move freaks me out a little, I have been trying to find teaching positions online although some have shown interest many are not near Cordoba. The closest I seem to get is Puebla.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary, Middle Education and Science. I am completing my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in English as a Second Language. I have never left the country before let alone leaving it with my two children (2 and 10) in tow.
This is an important move because it is very important for me that my son (who is half Mexican) knows and identifies with his culture, it is also important for me and my daughter. My husband's parents need to have grandparent time with their own grandchildren so I know my reasons for moving are good and genuine.
Does anyone have any advice, know any way to find work in Cordoba, have solutions for the anxiety I have over finding work ....(we aren't even going to discuss the anxiety with trying to sell our house right now )
I would appreciate any response. |

You're overqualified to work in a language school.
Go for colegios. Benefits, a check every month with two months vacation, discount rates for your kids, etc....
I would contact them at your earliest convenience, to let them know that you are coming.
Why don't you ask your husband's family for the names and phone numbers of the elite schools in Cordoba...
Until then... i found this for you...
Colegio Britnico de Crdoba
01 271 712 5526

Good luck!!!
oh, and if i may, no need to freak out about the move. Just take a deep breath and smile.

Thank you so much for your replies...today I received a follow up email from the American School in Puebla, she says that she will contact me towards the end of the month for a phone interview. Puebla is our second choice because according to my husband, it is about 3 hours from Cordoba so we could visit the family often.
Sounds funny, but it is reassuring to here from those that do that this can be done!!! Thank you again. |
