My friend and I are heading to Dalian in about a week and would like suggestions for a decent place to stay while job hunting. Not too picky but prefer budget hotels to hostels. Somewhere central would be ideal but also not too noisy. Are there any quiet expat neighborhoods? |

Oxymoron if I ever saw one.
I'm not far from Dalian, go there often. There are a few hostels, sorry but I never use them so I can't tell you much about them. I'd do a Google on them (which you can).
Good luck in the hunting department; Dalian is quite nice. |

You do realize that in a week it will be Chinese New Year and that most places will be shut down? Not to mention louder than usual.
Anyway, central and quiet is kind of an oxymoron in Dalian. However, if you want central, try to find hotels in Zhongshan Square, Minzu Square and Sanba Square -- that's as about as central as you can get. Heck, there's two English schools in Sanba Square, Joy and Jordan's, you can check out as well. I know that a KindyROO branch out here needs a FT as well.
I live in Dalian, PM if you got questions. |
