Dear Le Petit Prince,
At the risk of belaboring the point, would you be kind enough to point out some specific examples of this:
" . . . and your contribution does not make matters a lot better."
which, by the way, would seem to contradict this:
" . . . as much as (we/I) appreciate and honor their wisdom . . ."
Regards,
John |

| My point is only that certain people who have no recent experience in the Gulf ....endlessly put it upon themselves to advise, direct, and criticize...the rest of us that live here and are trying to make a decent living. |

Dear Le Petite Prince,
Well, good gracious, man - ignore them/us. Surely living in the Middle East has put an edge on that particular skill.
Although I'll admit I can sympathize; I pay attention/respond to posts that I think are unnecessary.
Regards,
John |

| Le Petit Prince protests too much. Reminds me of his creator, the collaborationist Saint Exupery. |

@USAMathMan!!! A man after my own heart!! We are kindred spirits!!!
I am also a qualified mathematics teacher (but from the UK). Like you, I don't have a maths degree, but I did Engineering, which is a very highly mathematical subject...as is Comp Sci. I mean, we study degree level maths every year of our course!!!
I wanted to try out for a Foundation/Preparation/Orientation Year Program maths job in Saudi and Qatar. They aim to teach pre-undergrads algebra and trig mainly. However, they want Masters and/or PhDs in Mathematics (pure or applied).
I have a Master of Education degree, so perhaps education consultant jobs (be it for people like CFBT, Nord Anglia et al) or teaching BEd students (like in HCT) could be more up my street. It's a shame in a way because I really want to teach my (albeit adopted) subject! |

HCT has engineering programs at some campuses - you might be considered especially because you do have a Master's (albeit not in engineering) and even more so if you have industry experience.
It never hurts to apply - the worst they can do is say no and you're no worse off than you are now. |
