When this upcoming semester ends I will move to a new university in a different province to teach beginning in September. My foreign expert certificate expires on July 31st and I want to remain in China until I begin teaching again at the new university (hopefully, living on campus at the new school). Is this a problem? How do I go about making this happen? Thank you. |

You are required to leave the country by the end of the day of your Resident Permit expiration. If you intend to stay in China legally past that date, then go to the PSB and get a travel visa. |

...or tell the new university about your situation and see if they'll set you up early. |

Thanks for the response tomstone,
That's good to know. I would just hate to have to go back to the U.S. to get another Z visa or something.
I wonder if anyone has lived on campus at their new university for that month during the summer? |

Also, you wouldn't have go to the US for the new visa, HK would suffice. |
