|

Okay, I've made the rounds, generally in person, to drop off cvs (a few were emailed). I've had a couple of offers but mostly piecemeal, and not the best conditions either in terms of pay or hours (one 90-minute class in an evening, which would preclude me from working anywhere else at night).
I have enough background, experience, and (especially) certificates that I really shouldn't have that much trouble finding something suitable, at least according to what people have told me. I am not particularly looking for a full-time contract. In fact, I would much prefer to freelance, say, 15 or 20 hours in the afternoons and evenings and leave it at that rather than be tied to one school with a full-time contract.
So my question would be for anyone who has been in HCMC a while and has a better sense of the market than I do. Do I just sit back and wait for people to call at this point? Do I need to do any follow-up? Is this the sort of place where employers stockpile cvs and then start making phone calls a day or two before classes start? How long should I be prepared to wait? Are my expectations reasonable? Any other strategies worth considering?
Thanks in advance for your insight. |
