Nah, I don't think it was anxiety. They came across as intimidating, not saying that they literally were. I was always worried about messing up and by worrying, I actually did sometimes (usually ended up running over my time). I was comfortable in front of the class and with the students, though, which is why I don't feel that it was pure anxiety.

I was already having trouble breathing. The smoking and the mold just added onto the problem because of the blood clots in my lungs. They wanted me to recuperate, and the doctors said that they didn't want me in that environment so that my lungs could heal properly. Even with being discharged, I was still having a little shortness of breath. I didn't fully get to the point where I could do much of anything until last week. Took my dog out for a walk, and no shortness of breath, which means that the clots are now fully dissolved.

Apparently, the clot thing is something that runs in this family too. I'm generally too young for this type of stuff and it's uncommon for a person my age. Seems it probably came from my grandmother's and her mother's side.

I wish you the best in the New Year. May all of your visions become reality.

I had a pain in my chest today and even vomited, but, I'm still going strong.

The frontline isn't for everyone. Get a job in Virginia and be happy. I wish I could hit "Old Town" Alexandria again. If I remember correctly, the Yellow Line/King Street station took me there from near Takoma Park (red line), Maryland.

I will always remember driving by the "Maryland House" on I95 with my Father.

Perhaps again in a new life?

I originally thought about doing the CELTA but changed my mind and did the SIT TESOL course at Rennert and I think it was the best decision that I ever made. I LOVED this course. The course is really well-structured and the trainers were amazing - incredibly professional and supportive. I really felt prepared to teach at the end of the course and got a job at a school in New Jersey 2 weeks after I finished. I would really recommend it.

I'm the original poster and since this got bumped again to the top (and no offense if this isn't true elsteachernyc, but your post is a little fishy and seems like it could be viral marketing? not sure...) i figured i would post an update. I decided on the CELTA at Teaching House since most people said that while SIT is well known, CELTA is better-known. I'm in week three of the intensive course and i've loved almost every minute of it. The course is incredibly thorough and well-organized, and the trainers are great. If anyone has specific questions about it feel free to send me a PM.

Hey, you asked for opinions and I gave you mine. I had a fantastic experience with SIT. It sounds like you're happy with the decision you made too. All the best with the last week and finding a job afterwards.
