What documents do you need to show? Is there an online application that can be downloaded and filled out prior to going?
Thanks! |

There isn't a form to fill out beforehand -- not that I know of anyhow. The actual form once you're there isn't extensive and shouldn't take you long to complete.
We just needed our passports to get the tax number. I don't believe you need anything else!
It's actually a very easy process -- surprising given the way most things run here! |

| Isn't a residence permit now necessary to get a tax number? |

| Yes, it is free. No, a residence permit isn't required. You actually need the tax number in order to GET the residence permit (and a bank account, which you need to get the residence permit as well). |

You do not need a tax i.d. number or a bank account to get a residence permit. You need a receipt showing that you've exchanged $300 into Turkish Lira for every month of the length of the residence permit (i.e. $3,600 for a one year permit). This can be at a money exchange shop (Doviz). |
