This is going to be a broad question, but for an ESL teacher with 3+ years experience in South America, a TESOL cert and a B.A. degree in psychology... is there any hope of spending a month or two doing some sort of summer courses without losing money in the end? Taking into consideration I'd have from the end of June until the end of August...

I realize it's a long shot but all advice is welcome, be it "stop dreaming" or "talk to X summer camp" Thanks!

If you could get to Vietnam for June and July you would get work and easily save. It's summer school time and the big language centres like Apollo, ILA etc will be screaming out for teachers and won't care that you only want short term as they won't need you after it.

Thanks for the good advice, but do you think I would save on the whole even taking into consideration the cost of flying there and back?

Depends on how keen you are to work and how you live. You could probably get work 7 days a week in 2 or 3 different centres (but this still only equates to about 30hrs - plenty of free time), or even just in one with the big schools. You'de be on part time salary, probably get about $21 and hour. So if you worked summer classes AND did weekends for someone you could get about $2200/mth. Cost of living is again up to you. I pay $450/mth rent and spend about $450/mth on entertainment and I live quite well. You need to do the math Smile
