|
|
Someone on the mymerhaba forums just posted that tourist visas for U.S. citizens now cost $60 instead of $20. Can anyone validate this claim?
It seems like it must have been a relatively recent development given that no one here has posted about it yet. |

The consular information pages are not updated that often. I've been trying to verify this and haven't seen anything. OP: can you give me a link to the my merhaba forum? |

I arrived on March 7, 2010 and the visa cost was $20. If they raised it, it must have happened days ago. |

I have some friends visiting now and they just arrived yesterday (March 13th) and their visas were each $20, so it looks like the price hike was just a rumor or maybe people confused about the price of other visas. I think Canadians have to pay $60 for whatever reason. |

Yeah, I looked up all the prices, but everything on the consular Web sites still said $20.I think the guy at mymerhaba must have talked to Canadians and mistook them for Americans or something.
Either that or it was a very short-term measure taken in response to the congressional commission's vote on the Armenian issue...that's the only semi-logical explanation I can think of.
The post is here if you want to check it out.
Anyway, glad to hear that the $20 price seems to still be in place! |
