From what you wrote and the way you phrased your reply,I think you have had rather more G&T than I.

Are you telling me that those expressions are what you would teach?? Not only ELL's but British schoolchildren??

If so then I want no part of it. Simple spelling or grammatical mistakes are one thing (with or without booze), that purile slang is quite another.
Oh yes, who was it that wrote to another forum member: "says someting criptic "? A simple spelling mistake, or have we had a little too much Gin deary??

You want to take the English language down to the gutter? Just leave it alone and journey there on your own

Re the op, the BC pay terrible dosh and Libya is only about the cash. Dunes are fine but wait till you live amongst them. Roman ruins beautiful, but you can visit all of them in a week. Tripoli is a lonely place with little to do....unless you think going for a cheesecake at the Corinthia floats your boat.

I work for an oil company and find the 42 days I spend there 14 days too long due to the complete lack of life.

Tripoli was never that bad. Admittedly not the most exciting of places but there ARE things to do there and realistically how many people actually do get the opportunity to go there? It's an intereting stamp to have in your passport if nothig else (well, it'll actually be a few stamps by the time you've had the translation done etc)

If you're working for a decent company then you'll survive it, at least the BC have a decent reputation as opposed to other places.
As for pay - whilst I agree that the BC don't pay fantastically well (they often don't) they usally offer good developmental opportunities - much better than some places I could mention.

I honestly think it's an opportunity that should be taken - and yes I speak from experience.
