IS this a well-known for the right reasons and respectable establishment and has anyone even heard o f them at all? Im getting some "green shoots" as Obama said last year from my correspondences with them but Im skeptical for a fdew reasons, like NO ONE seems to have heard of them at all.
PC Parrot, Bulgogiboy, kazazt, coffeespoonguy, what do y'all think please? |

i am perhaps not as knowledgable as the requested parties
but from what i know they pay 13 - 15 TL/hour (rather low, even for dersanes), BUT they guarantee a certain number of hours per week (which most dersanes don't do)... they have very small classes (2 - 5 students/ class), which you teach using elicitation methods. the schedule is not so fixed. the students are free to come whatever days they want. they spend the first hour or two working in a computer lab using language learning software with the help of Turkish English teachers. Then, for the second half of the lesson, they're put into small groups depending on their level (beginner, intermediate, etc) to practice the skills they just went over in the computer lab with the native speaker in small round table "classrooms". almost all of the classes are nights and weekends because they target business people. classes are 50 minutes long with a paid 10 minute paid break. i know each branch has at least one native speaking "branch manager" who still has to teach classes but gets paid a bit more, so if you think you're qualified, you might try getting one of those gigs.
unfortunately, i don't know about the house allowance or other benefits, but i have heard they don't secure work visas for their employees. and also that they're one of the highest charging dersanes in turkey (to their customer students) but also one of the lowest paying (to both their turkish and ex-pat employees). |
