Why would ZUS give you money back? I've never seen it, they take, take, take and when you want to take some, they tell you to f|_|ck off! |

ZUS is a worthless institution, as are most or all gov't institutions in this country. It functions not to serve the general public but to provide jobs for old communist hacks. There should be a revolution. |

You just said that you've worked with them, not a specific job. You could have been the cleaning lady but I went with a more honorable job just for you |
Strange. And by the way, what do you think is not "honourable" about "cleaning ladies"?

Is that why all of the Politicians have speech therapy problems? Striking!! |
A strange thing to say. All politicians? I can't think of any who have what you quaintly describe as "speech therapy problems". Perhaps you can justify your comment about "all of the Polish politicians"?

That's what they do. They are the Polish Social Insurance organisation. They refund therapeutic treatments provided they are refundable and pay your hospital bills old-age pensions and disability benefits. I shan't resort to the language you've used but have they refused you treatment provided you have paid the contributions?

No thanks, I have it in our internal phone list.

The tone and content of your posts suggest suggest you need exactly that.

See above. Especially the stuff about "cleaning ladies" being not "honourable" the "f|_|ck off!?" and "all of the Polish politicians" having "speech therapy problems" (an unusual term if ever there was one). |

Gibon, you are a waste of time!!
The list of some of the higher up politicians that have problems with their speech:
>The President of Poland/wife
>Tusk
>Warsaw's Mayor
>Korwin-mikke
>Pawlak
>and many more
Would you like anymore politicians?
Go and ask Szamburski in person if you don't believe me!
pozdrawiam |

And you sadly are just rude. I hope you don't speak to your students or summer camp employers like that.

I suspect most people on that list would very strongly disagree with you. Perhaps you are confusing a distinctive voice with a speech impediment.
And what makes you think that Janusz Korwin-Mikke is a "higher up politician"?

Well you did say "all of the Polish politicians".
By the way you didn't answer the questions in the previous post. |

I proved my point, you don't know anything about speech therapy and you are a complete imbecile. |

I think this thread should be printed out and given to students for a reading comprehension activity. |

Actually you didn't and just resort to insults due to losing an argument. But never mind.
The important point is, that a speech impediment in a language learner needs to be treated sensibly and with extreme tact. It is something the student is aware of and has to live with. Any kind of therapy is a matter for the individual and the health services - not their language teacher - unless of course they ask for voice coaching which is a different set of skills altogether. |

I tend to agree. Speech therapy isn't always (isn't often) 100% successful, and we can't assume someone with a speech defect hasn't already had treatment. Poles are, for the most part, very aware of health issues and treatment options.
The reasons for a speech defect can be neurological, physiological, psychological, dental, or even a combination of factors. It doesn't make a language teacher's job easier but curing them or recomending therapists is not what we do - most ESL teachers aren't even trained to do elocution lessons.
In the classroom, we shouldn't raise issues like this with students if at all possible - they may be very sensitive about it... |
