Just curious, I find myself thinking Da'An seems like a good place to live in Taipei and yet never see places hiring that are very close to there. (Could be because people never leave those jobs or snatch them up as soon as they become available, who knows)
Anyway, rather than asking what the best place in Taipei is or having people try and guess what the best place in Taipei would be for me tell me about where you live in Taipei and what you think of it.
Taipei seems pretty sprawling and liking your neighbourhood could be all the difference between liking the city, the country, and your life or not. |

What are you looking for? Bars and nightlife? Student area? Places where everyone speaks English or few people speak English? |

For me? I would like somewhere perhaps like a student neighbourhood with some decent coffee shops, cheap eats, and some pubs. Not necessarily an exhilarating nightlife but some place to plant myself for a pint or two, also while we're at it a nice park or scenery wouldn't hurt either.
The point of this thread though is TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE ALREADY IN TAIPEI ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK OF THEIR NEIGHBOURHOOD.
I was hoping that if a decent amount of people just talked about their immediate areas then this thread would amount to a breakdown of different neighbourhoods in Taipei.
Just mention the atmosphere, shops, level of noise/activity, what's good/bad etc... |

Shi Da & Gong Guan fit the description you gave.
What difference does it make whether someone lives or has lived in Taipei? |
