I tried posting last week, and have yet to hear back a response. I will be graduating this June and looking for a TEFL course to take over the summer. However, I am trying to determine whether it is better to get a TEFL certificate in the country/city I choose to work in, or if I should get it back home in the California before heading abroad. It appears to be much easier to live at home and complete my certificate, and then decide where I would like to go. Are job opportunities/connections that much easier to find if you're taking a course in the city you hope to work in? Also, which regions tend to be hiring more teachers around August/September?
Thanks for the help.

Yes and no. You could interview while in country. And the place you do your TEFL cert at will have some connections. But keep in mind that it-ll be a full time job, plus studying, so you might not have that much extra time. |

You can do a CELTA course in Ecuador for only $2200 including accommodation and food for five weeks. 175 hour course. Unfortunately the summer courses are all booked up though. You could also look into Buenos Aires, Caracas, and Bogot |
