Dear Big L,

Can't be "disillusioned" because I was never "illusioned." Some of my way left friends, though, are in that state (or maybe I should say "those states.")

I always saw Obama as "middle-of-the-road," maybe even "slightly to the right," rather than the "socialist radical" that the T-baggers see him as today and as the way many on the left saw him during the campaign.

Hey, when you're making both set of wingnuts unhappy, you must be doing something good.

So, I'm quite content with the current administration. Politics is the art of the possible, and I'm satisfied with its track-record so far.

I just wanted a "change" (as I did during the election campaign.)

Regards,
John

Ahh, I too wondered about the different avatar. I was a bit confused as I've been thinking of you as super O rather than johnslat (..wacky I know) and had to do a search to make sure it was the same person.

Like the recent TX Art Festival... this new avatar lacks a certain je ne sais quoi.

Imagine if NCTBA or Scott changed their avatars to something as benign... gaosh it would be like ... putting an eco-friendly sticker on DDT! Smile

Dear Seditious,

Seldom, if ever, has the United States Marine Corps been described before as "benign."

Devil Dogs - yes; Leathernecks - sure; but benign - NO WAY.

Regards,
John

Ahh.... but when I see that flat lifeless avatar.... it conjures no imagery, it give no insight into your character, it remains a lifeless image of what could possible be a paperweight. Would you have us now re imagine you as a "devil dog" or "leatherneck"? Your style of writing and keen intelligence would belie that.
My assessment of your choice of avatar stands. Though as a relatively new poster... I might have very well taken more liberties in the last few posts that I've earned the right to.

Ah, we Marines are so often stereotyped. Some of the "few good men" actually have a brain.
However, I will endeavor to satisfy your craving for "imagery" and "insight into (my) character."
I think you may well have a point.

Regards,
Devil Dog John

Speaking of silliness, am I the only one to notice the "exit stage left" of 007?

Where is that troublesome tomboy???

Well, I came across a naked Simpson in Jumeirah Beach in Dubai partying with his folks, which made me exit stage left quietly and without my wireless bicycle! Laughing

Well, 007 is busy spending his Easter holiday in Blackpool Sea Life.
