Has anyone heard of Jiangsu University of Commerce? Or does anyone know any information about it? I am looking for a teaching job in Nanjing and this school has expressed some interest in me. I unfortunately lack the searching ability to find this school's website.

Any help with this would be stellar!

THANKS!
Kate

Also, why not ask the school to send you a link to their website?

Google? What is this new-fangled word?

I have obviously googled the school's name, but they were no results. Thanks for the tip tho!

As for asking the school for the website; I am going through a recruiter and he said that they can give me the address after I agree to some terms. Some confidentiality clause or something. I was just hoping to find someone who had taught there before or someone who had heard of the school.

I guess I will just contact my recruiter and see what he has to say. In the mean time I have to go figure out what this "google" phenomenon is!

If a google search turns up nothing they probably have no English website. Or it's a fake school. You should try getting someone to do a search for you in Chinese - if nothing comes up in Chinese, it's definitely time to move on. What really bothers me is that supposedly the recruiter has the address but won't give it to you until you 'agree to some terms'. Why would he do that? Maybe he's trying to screw you over?

I cannot find any reference to that school anywhere. It's either quite new or something got lost in translation.

The recruiter won't give out an address because then there is nothing to stop Crindy from dealing directly with the university (assuming it exists)and bypassing the recruiter, who will then miss out on his fee.

If a recruiter is going to withhold information from you then you should bid farewall! There is obviously a problem.

The name of the school is JIANGSU INSTITUTE OF ECONOMIC AND TRADE TECHNOLOGY (JIETT). I posted a message on CouchSurfers and a girl who studied there said that the Chinese translation is very similar to Jiangsu University of Commerce. I checked out the website and if anyone knows this school (now that this annoying riddle has been solved) please let me know.

The recruiter's name is Hubert and he is from ESL Across China. He responds quickly to my emails and answers my questions with professionalism. He seems legit.

Also, thanks for all of the help! I really appreciate this! Hope to return the favor some day!

Best Wishes!

I am looking to return to Nanjing, or at least Jiangsu. If you'd share any good leads, I'd very much appreciate it.
