As with a lot of "rules" in China, its seems to be fairly optional to the school. While you say it seems standard in all of China, I've never heard of it.. And the majority of teachers I have known in China started with zero experience or any teaching certifications.
To the OP, look in other areas... plenty of schools don't look for experience unless you're only looking at universities and foreign schools. |

It would help the school of your choice if you not only wrote a CV (resume) but also a separate page outlining just your teaching/training experience.
For example: did you ever hold a job where you had to train other employees for ANYTHING at ANYTIME. If you were the person in the department that showed new employees how to do their job or how to sign on to the computer, then that is a teaching experience that was part of your job for the entire time you worked at that company. If you worked there for two years, then you have two years experience in teaching other employees.
In Chengdu, I have seen schools that will turn down one teacher for lack of experience and hire another the day they graduated with no work experience at all at any time. It all depends on how badly they need your skills on that day. |
