I already did a search about Sohar University, not the college, nor the college of applied sciences, and found scant information, most of it related to 2008.

I taught at the Ibri College of Technology for TATI on a short contract(I hadn't realized that at the time), so I am already familiar with the foundation programs and the isolated living a place like Sohar would provide.

What I would like to know is what is the salary range for the university, including any stipends, such as for transportation, housing, etc....

Also, does anybody know what coursebook material is used at the University?

My thanks for your time and assistance.

If you think that Sohar is isolated you obviously haven't done your homework. It may have been isolated years ago but nowadays it is a thriving town with all facilities.

Sohar isn't Muscat, but it also isn't Ibri... Laughing rather half way in between. (I'm talking lifestyle, not geography)

After a flurry of negativity about various issues a few years ago, all has been quiet for the last couple years. On these boards, no news tends to mean that things are tolerable for a contract or two. Perhaps Mr carrottop could tell us if the pay arrives on time and the housing is acceptable. I know that there were housing issues in the past, but construction has hopefully caught up with demand by now.

I would say that one point in its favor is that it is direct hire, no recruiter involved.

I could find nothing on the boards posted since 2008--which is correct if you get check the archives.

I was interested in:

"What I would like to know is what is the salary range for the university, including any stipends, such as for transportation, housing, etc.... "

Please, if anybody knows anything, do share it.

My thanks.

Umm... isn't that what I said... that there had been nothing for the last couple of years?
