Does anybody have more information about this? I checked the website the article linked to:

http://www.english.education.gov.qa/section/sec/_community_college

but found very little information about it.

Thanks.

Well I just hope the TV show 'Community' doesn't air in Qatar or they're over before they've begun.

I know several people who were hired for this job and shipped out recently. Haven't heard from any of them since they arrived. If anyone has any news on how this HCC program is going, I'd love to hear about it, PM or otherwise.

It's now open for business. VS says they brought their own staff so it doesn't seem like they want to hire experienced gulfers.

It seems like they are recruiting a few people at the moment but maybe they only want to hire from the States. I had no luck with them, you might.

Good luck. One of their campuses is supposed to be across the road from Holiday Villas Hotel. This is a new hotel so I've never been there but they say there is a very good Chinese/Thai restaurant there.

I don't know why they didn't bother to even send a rejection email. Realy snotty. The teachers all come from stateside and from what the students report, they need cultural training lessons. It would have been a good idea to offer jobs to some of the Gulagers who applied. Not one got a response! Not nice. Tsk, tsk.

This is the same thing that happens if you apply for ESL jobs in the US. The only responses that I ever received were if they wanted to do an interview. Otherwise... crickets..

I suspect that it is related to budget cuts in HR departments.

So many problems, mainly caused by the dean who is an unscrupulous woman with a dubious past. She made her staff miserable and lost quite a few good teachers. They also turned down some excellent applicants. She should be horse-whipped as they say in my home state.

She's gone now. New Dean is supposed to be an improvement.

The new head is an experienced Qatari fellow. I think he can make this a good place. He's got a very good reputation.
