I'm curious to know how all of you -whom are teaching English in Japan- came about your jobs. (internet, first hand experience, through a company...etc...)
Thanks in advance

How did I find the job itself?
First job was found right here at Dave's! |

My job in Japan was from an old job notice on my college bulletin board. The posting was 6 months old, but they were looking for someone the next year.
My first overseas teaching job was in Korea from a newspaper ad. |

My school in Tokyo started recruiting from the college where I got a MA in 1998. I found out that they were looking for a teacher at their junior high division in 2000. I applied and got the job. In 2001 I was able to transfer to the high school division since one teacher there decided to resign. |

I first saw my job posted on tefl.com, and soon after that I saw it listed in my grad school's job bulletin. An alumna of my grad school had just finished her contract at my current job. (Coincidentally, I not only got the same job, but I am also living in her old house!)
