Oh and Justin if you are ever ready to move to the big time, send me your resume |
Hey, thanks! You're on my list for the next move. (Were before now, as it happens, but nice to have reinforcement!)
Right now I'm enjoying the heck out of being a big(ish) fish in a small(ish) pond. That's the thing about Ecuador- being a small market, pay is low, but the opportunities can be amazing. Chances to design curriculums for really major projects, set up my own programs, sky's the limit.
Only problem is that the sky isn't the limit on earnings...
Oh well,
Justin |

I spent a year in Uruguay - good salary, cheap cost of living, plenty of holidays (got to visit Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina).
So Uruguay would get my vote ...
If it had been listed anyway .... |

I can second what pete says about Panama. I was surprised to see that it wasn't one of the choices too. While it's a little expensive to live here, the earning potential is sky-high. I make upwards of 2K/month without running myself into the ground.
If you're willing to work long hours, the money is definitely there, and that's without factoring in private classes. 2K is easily attainable. 3K or more is within reach if you're willing to work for it. Of course, as pete said this is all contingent upon having a work permit, which for all intents and purposes you cannot get. |

I hear you can garner up to $4500 in good schools in Bogota, Colombia. |
That's about 9 million a month! Which schools are they Guy? |
I haven't taught there, but my DoS's best friend just got a job with British Council there for 4,000 pounds/month. It's categorized as 'dangerous' or some other term for hardship. |

Ha! Sounds like the BC. There's a reason they had 40 applicants for their last vacancy. Excellent employer. |
