Anyone ever heard of someone getting maternity leave in their contracts? Or health insurance that covers maternity? International schools, universities, anything? Do you just have to save up money to have kids? (I'm American, so the cost of a private room in HK is about the same as the cheapest possible option back home, which is nice).
I know I'm probably SOL, but I thought I'd give it a shot........... |

PROBABLY out of luck. HOWEVER, if you were well established at a school, became part of their "family" (it happens, even though the government will never recognize foreigners that way). I doubt seriously whether any employer would ever put it into an initial agreement, but once you got your foot in the door..... I know that the maternity leave and health insurance for the Chinese teachers is VERY generous at this school (a full year off with pay and all medical). |
