I've seen a program offered by willexcel a canadian company with schools in china, haerbin. They offer a TESOL qualification (one month) in china and a 6 month work contract. The 6 months is paid work (up to 5500 RMB they say) and the hours teaching in the training are paid too. You pay a $200 registation fee after they accept you and say the rest of the training is paid for by the school you'll be working for in haerbin. Does this sound legitimate? should i be paying money before i get out there? How do I know i won't pay the money and never get to hear from them again or get to go out there? They have a good looking website (http://www.willexcel.com/TESOL/main.htm). does that mean anything?

Personally, I�d rather complete a TEFL cert and then work. They might say that the hours you work were part of your training and you'll never get real training.

ASk to talk to some of their graduates to see what they say?

Also, Harbin is super cold in winter.

I don't think that the webpage is that professional. THey�re more focused on selling themselves. They say that anyone can teach, even if you don't have a degree, but really in CHina it's harder to get a job if you don't have a degree. Re: Not impossible, but harder.

They don't go into much details about their course either.

I did a course with the Boland school, www.boland-china.com which I thought was professional and intensive, you learn lots of grammar, how to teach vocab, teaching games, tips, job help, etc.

Also, the question begs to be asked, but when most courses are around 1000USD to 2000USD, why is theirs only 200USD??
