Hey everyone,
I'm looking to teach English for a year possibly in Shanghai or another large Chinese city. I'm a new college graduate with no experience teaching although I have studied abroad twice and had a summer internship in Shanghai in 2009. I'm considering using the recruiter ESL Across China but they don't seem to have a website. Should this be a cause for concern?
Has anyone had dealings with them or have any knowledge about them?
Also, just in general are there any recruiters you would recommend for placements in Shanghai?
I appreciate any help and apologize if this has already been addressed. Either the search function is worthless or I'm completely inept when it comes to this site (could certainly be the case). |

Apology accepted. As for the search engine, it does work. Allow me to help you along here.
Hit the "Search" button up top, in the search criteria, type recruiter in the keyword line, select "China - Job related forum" and then press search. Loads of info, some will be pertinent to your questions, some not. |

Now the search function takes me to a completely blank page. I did try to use it before I posted to no avail though. So does anyone have experience with this recruiter?
Thanks,
David |

You have no experience therefore you do not fall under the criteria for applying for a Foreign Expert Certificate. Although with the proper connections this policy/rule can be got around in some places. As you will find it difficult to get said FEC you will not get a Residency Permit and will likely be asked to work under a tourist or business visa, both of which are illegal. Be careful. |
