|
|
As my post subject suggests I am an experienced General English teacher with a Masters degree in TESOL and 2 years experience in a university language institute here in Australia.
I would like to do some teaching/travelling in Russia, and am searching for potential employers. Job sites list the usual fare - BKC, LL and the like, but I feel an experienced teacher could do better than this. That said, this would be the first time for me out of my country (and comfy little bubble), so I would like a bit of support (accommodation especially).
Can anyone recommend a school they have worked for previously? I am flexible on location within Russia, although St Petersburg is my preference.
Thanks in advance!

If you don't mind being in a satellite town of Moscow, this place is better than many others such as Zelenograd ,Lubertsi etc.The website makes it look attractive an firm to work for but then websites are designed to advertise...I would also clarify the accomodation offered and whether you get a private flat or a shared one.In my opinion sharing a flat with someone you don't know is a no-no.The maximum offered is $1600 which may sound a lot,but it isn't as groceries are expensive and you will spend it easily. On the other hand you could end up working for a Mac school in the city for the same as this outfit pays, which is arguably far worse... |

English Club is a Mac school. It's run by a bunch of amateurs and is connected to British Educational Centre which is connected to BKC. Steer clear of it, it's all bad news.
Kellyanne, you're right, an experienced teacher should be able to do much much better than this. |
