Broepke...
It seems u have taught in china for awhile, but not familiar with the job agencies per your threads as of late re: job searching, yes??
You probably already know the best way is to contact the uni direct, right?
That being said, Angelina's has been good for me (no luck with others) I have had many hits through them, and some job offers. They got me my first job two years ago. This year I had a couple good ones in BJ, but i am picky, and turned them down, and got a few others there that were not up to par.
The problem seems that some of the jobs they have are the least desirable, i.e. travel to second campus, over 16 teaching periods at a uni, required office hours, one way air fare, or 7000, something stupid like that.
Anyone that has been here for a while knows this is shit.
And frankly, this year as I have searched, it seemed they have just gotten worse from last year. Lower pay and more hours! horseshit.
Honestly, I don't see how its possible that some of these uni's get people.
They have got to be complete newbie's, naive, dumb, or just gotta be in china at all costs! maybe here under false pretenses, or young'ems...first job, so they will take anything they can get, who knows?!
Any good job will be hard to find, imho. Amy at Angelina's has helped me this year, though, and quite diligent with my pain in the ass standards...
U just let them know what u want....u just might not get any hits...er.
Networking and diligence is really the best way, and maybe Angie's...
