Ive been in Madrid a year and think Im fairly well tuned to the general market and what I will be able to receive from the language academies in the coming September (if I decide to leave my current one). However, Im more interested in entering the university system of Madrid in one of their English language schools.
Last year when I was a fresh teacher with only a couple of months experience under my belt I went for an interview with a university in Madrid and it went well, until my complete lack of Spanish came into play. Thats what Im made to believe is the case anyway.
So what are the qualifications that are needed to enter into a university? So far Im still a little inexperienced:
TEFL certificate (not name brand but meets the requirements)
Halfway through an M.A. in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from a British University (distance learning).
1 and a bit years of teaching experience.
pre-intermediate Spanish.
Most employers in Spain are blown away that Im studying for an M.A. but whats the situation like in the universities? Im pretty sure there are some university-based posters here who itd be great to hear from. |

Sorry I can't answer your question, but I would love to hear if anyone else has information about unis. Good luck! |
