S n B et al: Go ahead and delude yourselves of this talk of 'freedom' in U.S. My 49 yrs experience, however, tells me freedom in the US come in levels and not generally available to all. Bet the so-called MINORITIES in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas don't share your 'white' view of freedom in America!!

Yup!! How about these for 'freedom' measures:
...More people behind bars than ALL nations of the world combined
...More budget for prison infrastructure than aids for the nations's poor
...More people on 'death-row' than any nation in the world
...More serious crimes than any nation in the world
...Fought (fighting) more wars than any nation in the world
...More guns on the street than any nation in the world
...More drugs, drug related offences and addicts than any nation in the world
The list goes on and on and on and.......
FREEDOM in the U.S is only an 'ILLUSION'. Real freedom in the U.S is bought and sold everyday. Most are too ignorant to comprehend.
And I will trade the "freedom" streets of New York, Los Angeles or Chicago for the Middle East, Asia, Africa any day!!!

Dear mamasboy,

"And I will trade the "freedom" streets of New York, Los Angeles or Chicago for the Middle East, Asia, Africa any day!!!"

Gee, guess we won't be seeing you drop by for a visit then, huh? Well, that's OK, I suppose; you've got the rest of the world to enjoy. May I suggest you give the freedom of Saudi a try?

Time to get back to living in my illusion now.

Regards,
John

Do you have any democratically elected ethnic African president in the Middle East? Oh, that's right, you didn't even abolish slavery of Africans until 1965-70. Do you have a democratically elected lower house consisting of 9% ethnic Africans and probably another 5% or so other minorities? Can you criticize your government? Can you choose your religion, or do you PERSONALLY just accept what's handed down to you because you're passive, and you will suffer severe consequences, even execution, if you should switch to another?

As for the crime nonsense, half of your little factoids are completely false and ludicrous. Crime is actually down to below 1965 levels even in New York. A prestigious British survey last year ranked San Francisco, Chicago and Houston safer than London. You just make up things because they make you feel better. What are you, 8 years old?

I know--I'm lowering myself to this interloper's level. Yuck--I need a shower.

S n B: Please grow up...and NO ranting! Truth bites I guess.
As always...you choose the 'soft target'...Africa, not Middle East or Asia as per my posting.
Then you reject 50% of my factoids, by giving irrelevant and unrelated FACT on (crime rates), but that's only one item, with LONDON as your comparison. Try comparing Chicago and Houston with any city in Asia, Middle East, Africa with your facts! Will trade your version of DEMOCRACY and freedom to REAL FREEDOM as we know it here!

Dear mamasboy,

"Will trade your version of DEMOCRACY and freedom to REAL FREEDOM as we know it here!"

Hey, no need to get discombobulated - and no need to trade. All that freedom in Africa, Asia and the Middle East - it all yours. Enjoy.

"Then you reject 50% of my factoids, . . ."

Incidentally, I certainly understand why the Sheik used the term "factoids," but I think you probably should have refrained from doing so:

"factoid"
1. A piece of unverified or inaccurate information that is presented in the press as factual, often as part of a publicity effort, and that is then accepted as true because of frequent repetition"

Got to go now; time to indulge in my illusion of freedom.

Regards,
John
