I have been trying to get an international school job in Malaysia this year, but have been unsuccessful. I have heard that the best way to get a job there is to be there.. so, that is what I am planning on doing late this summer.

Does anyone have any advice to give me regarding securing a good position there? I would really like to work at Mont'Kiara or ISKL, but I know both of those schools are very competitive.

I have friends in KL... so it shouldn't be too bad of a transition. I have been thinking about going in July, as the school year is gearing up to begin, in case a school has a teacher not show- but my friends will be on Holiday until the 1st week of August- so that is now when I am thinking I will go.

I have a Master's in Education, ECE/ELE, have taught abroad before, as well as in public schools in the US. Qualifications shouldn't be an issue for me.

Try intl job school fairs and apply to any and all schools in Malaysia. The competitive ones might want teaching experience in Malaysia. So just get to Malaysia with another school, do your two years and try again at the better schools.
