I know a guy who has a Ph.D in Education (TESOL focus) and has been teaching in Asia for a few years. He applied and they never contacted him.
The managers there may be looking for a certain profile, which was alluded to above.
$4, 000 U.S. in Vietnam sounds like a lot of money. |

| I also got an automated response but no follow up. Was surprised, until I read this post. Have three years experience and Celta. |

I know 3 people who have had experience with RMIT. One of them has been working for RMIT for a few years and seems to like it okay. He told me there were problems but didn't get into details.
A second person I know, who has a Ph.D, was given an interview but turned down the job. The high number of hours per-week, 20 hours a week, were way too much. Also, the positions are terminal in that teachers are not part of the regular academic system and rank structure (i.e. there are no promotions through the academic ranks from Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor).
A third person I know with a a Ph.D applied 2 or 3 times a few years ago and told me that they never received an interview but just confirmation that they had received his application / cv.
So, I'm not sure exactly what they are looking for. |

This is not a real university.
This is a university from a western nation based in Vietnam.
Of course there will not be the "Lecturer, Assistant prof, Associate Prof and Prof.
If they were good, they would be hired in the West under these conditions. |
