I've done searches here for "Henan Meiya Cultural & Commercial Development Company" and "Sharon Wang" but haven't found any relevant information. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this recruiter. I'm not sure why I received an email from "Sharon" after initially emailing <[email protected]>.
I'm currently waiting for RTT to get back to me regarding my application to teach English in China. Since I'm not sure how long they'll take I figured I should actively look for positions. Some of the jobs advertised by Henan/Sharon interest me but I don't want to give them any of my information and digital documents until I have an idea of their reputation.
Thank you very much for any feedback. Just trying to avoid getting screwed over, if that's possible. |

I have had contact with Sharon. She got very "excited" (read: upset) when I told her I was going to a prospective job-site she told me about and asked for the name of a contact person. She wouldn't give me one. Red flags went up. I gave her my info, I've never felt the least bit wary of giving out my pertinent information to anyone. Most people don't have the smarts to "steal your identity", it's nothing I've ever concerned myself about. I know, I'm going to hear everybody's horror stories; bring 'em on, folks! |

she wont give u the contact info because the school could then hire you with paying a fee to the recruiter... or maybe the job/location is horrid |

Red flags went up yet you still gave her your info. and you're continuing to pursue a teaching position with her/her company? I'd be much more careful if I were you. You don't want to end up suffering later.
I've been looking online for weeks for an appealing position with a reputable school or company but nothing is falling into place. From the online research I've done, seems like just about every language school in China is out to exploit its teachers. I just want to teach English in China under a fair contract. |

I gave her my info before the red flags went up, but that doesn't matter. If somebody wants to access your information badly enough, they can do it. There are several hotels in Hong Kong that have scanned my passport, visa, etc. One place where I DIDN'T stay actually required the PIN for my ATM card. I drew the line there. |

FWIW, the pay/hours seems low to ridiculously low. You really shouldn't be working more than 16 hours at a university, 25 at a training center, unless you're compensated accordingly. |
