Interesting video report by BBC about current concerns over the heat wave inside the metro.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/latin_america/10302626.stm
What gets me are parents who still have their babies/children wrapped up in layers and heavy blankets.
It will be interesting to see if they force any of the stands to close down or renovate. |

Mmm, can't get the video to load, but the link works.
It's been steamy in the metro...luckily my commute is only 5 stops over 2 lines, one of the them the lower volume brown line.
Maybe it's not too late to have AC put into that new line! |

I saw this link earlier but couldn't load the vid either!
My car has been playing up recently and is currently out of action for a new head gasket, so I've had to lower myself to take public transport, and yes, I can confirm I was saying exactly the same thing about the heat last week! |

Last week I saw a couple of people faint in the sometimes a little less crowded women only cars. Luckily, I have an alternate route that I can take that only takes about 10 or 15 minutes more, depending on traffic. Lucky me to live on the Pink Line. Years ago, when I lived in Portales I never had problems like that on the Metro. |

The real danger is in the cooler months. Emerging from a stifling Metro into the cool air provokes many colds. At least at the moment it just as hot outside. |

I thought only drinking cold beverages did that.
I see they put some fans up at metro Tacubaya, blowing some kind of cool mist. Somebody's listening... |

Aargh, I'm becoming Mexican - time to leave!
Although there may be some truth in this - rapid changes of temperature and all that - I don't know!!! Forget I ever said anything! |

Yes, into the chilled air below 22C! (Or any temperature if theres a wind.) Sounds like youre ready for the Mexican nationality test. |
