I'm calling it a witch hunt because I have no legal recourse, and I've tried. Every FAOffice passes the buck, after taking all my docs and not replying for 3 weeks. They also say, "There are no laws protecting employees in China." Etc.

So I can't work in China, and I did nothing criminal.

It is a trumped-up charge.

Please don't waste your time and mine writing me nasty Young Republican type letters about how pure you are and how I'm an obvious liar, should be shot, you'd love to turn me in to the police, love China or leave it, etc.

Cube

It's a sobering thought that once we leave our country, or region, we lose a lot or all of our 'residency' rights, and are a guest rather than a citizen.

I've honestly very little idea what went wrong for you, unlike the various posters who seem to have been granted both omniscience and a calling to pass judgement on you. Best of luck in whatever you do next.

Ohhh, come on Cubism. Accept some personal responsibility here rather than passing the buck and blame onward.

The forum has more than one thread from you regarding quitting this job, quitting that job, pulling a runner, blaming this school or that school, etc.

Maybe it's time you take stock inward. You're irked about being supposedly blacklisted, yet you "did nothing wrong," right?

What is the trumped up charge you refer to?

The fact is, you, on more than one occasion clearly committed professional violations, even premeditated them by coming to the forum for advice on how to violate agreements, contracts, etc.

Sorry, but I don't think most people have sympathy for those that CONSTANTLY break the rules.

When are you going to admit the "fishy-ness" here?

The only person stopping you from working is yourself.

'They' are just not making it easy for you. Where there is a will there is a way.

It is your choice to give up or find a solution.

Stop looking for sympathy from strangers. Most of us really don't care.

Sorry, but even you must know that simply isn't true!!

There is an employment law in China; it exists as a document (revised in 2009); there are parts of it that apply specifically to foreigners working in China.

I really hope that you manage to sort out whatever the problem is, but, honestly, I still believe you are being a little paranoid about the 'blacklist', especially at a national level.

I also have to echo the sentiments from earlier posts that maybe some of your problems could be of your own doing, and it's not really the case that everyone else is at fault and you are spotless.

A "witch hunt" is a pretty strong statement.

How many "witches" besides yourself were uncovered in this hunt?

I don't think there are black lists or witch hunts going on. I think it is like the rest of the world today. If people in power want to know about you they can find out whatever they want. How much money you have in the bank. How long you worked at different jobs. It's all there even in Canada there is a scandal going on over people going into tax information on individuals. In Canada when I was living there 15 years ago the secret to getting a good job was having a mailing address in the good part of the city. Now I think they just look and see how much you are worth. China wants people who come to teach English on a vacation and spend as much as possible while doing it.
Boorish behavior means nothing here and I too am tired of reading about this beaten horse. I see too many baiju stores here and midnight barbers to think some foreigner is doing anything worse than the locals.

Cubism, you literally found your name on a blacklist? it was because you pulled a runner?
