Wow. You certainly dredged up an impressive list of colleges in KL. Some of them, however, will be 'shoplot' colleges which are dodgy. Let me highlight the ones that are more respectable and thus, hopefully, help you narrow your job search.

I doubt that sending email would be useful -- unless you're a royal highness. Malaysia (and especially KL) is a hands-on, feet-on-the-ground sort of place when it comes to finding employment. There are plenty of expats already pounding the pavements there.

I agree with Henry_C on this one; better to visit a select group of colleges in person with resume in hand, and a local address/phone number at the top. They are not interested in paying for your airline ticket.

It is VERY difficult to find a short-term apartment rental if your rich bosses aren't paying for it. Short-term lets in KL are almost exclusively in fancy, expensive expat accommodations. All other apartment rentals require long-term leases. However, you can probably get a short-term room in a flat shared with others.

Hotels are your only other option, and there are some quite inexpensive hotels in KL.

awesome, California guy. (thats YOU, Hank!) I will try to pinpoint the non-BED-BUG infested ones for a long-term inexpensive stay, all sarcasm aside (it wasnt there to begin with) Ive been reading about a bed bug epidemic in SE ASia which became quite noticed by travelers on a few sites beginning in about Fall 2009.

Even 5 star hotles are affected, not just the seedy...what did you call em in Malysia, Rainbow hotels? Perfume Hotels? I guess those are Love hotels.
