Hi there!

My husband and I have been living in Manila, Philippines and we just recently moved to Yokohama. He applied at Berlitz and he's now scheduled for a group interview this coming Wednesday. Problem is, he doesn't own a suit ( he never needed one when he was still working in Manila). I understand that there isn't a compromise or perhaps a choice in terms of what to wear for an interview. He almost called Berlitz to inquire if he is really required to wear a suit!

So I was hoping if anyone knows of any stores in Yokohama where we could buy inexpensive yet decent enough suits? Since we just moved here, we dont have a lot to spare, our budget is around 10,000-15,000 yen.

From what I was able to read from this forum, appearance itself during the initial interview can help you make or break it. Any inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks!

There is an outlet mall in Yokohama near the port, south of central Yokohama (on the sealine train route) they will have good prices
otherwise, Aoyama is a mensware chain, they are everywhere and often have good prices

You could also check Aoki (Takadanobaba and other places) or Sakazen (Sha Mall - Ikebukuro or Zen Mall in Shibuya) as they often run sales and depending on his size you may be able to get something in that price range.

Beleive it or not I got a suit for about that price from Benneton when they did a sale but otherwise have you looked at Uniglo? I think they are sometimes very cheap you could ask them.

Go to any Aeon department store /mall. They have two types of budget suits, priced at 7000 and 9000 yen. They're lightweight and fit reasonbly well.
